All About Plants title with image of a plant starting to grow image

Kids in first grade are so curious about the world around them which makes spring the perfect time to teach your class about plants. As warmer weather arrives, kids are outside more and can observe plants and learn more about them. They can see the parts of plants… but let’s then build on that knowledge and learn about the needs of plants along with the life cycle of a plant and the jobs of each external part.

Organize your science lesson plans to include:

  • the parts of a plant (structures)
  • jobs of plant parts (functions)
  • what plants need to survive
  • life cycle of plants
